This will be the beginning of a continuous look into the careers and jobs God has blessed us with and how God has changed our prespectives
While God allows the numbers of members to increase consistently here at Remnant Fellowship, the gifts and abilities within the fellowship have been tremendous. There are countless individuals in the medical, hospitality, and sales fields just within our local assembly. One can only imagine what gifts we have at our finger tips in the neighboring states.
At the Remnant Fellowship church we have heard consistent life-changing testimonies and profound words from leader, Gwen Shamblin. She has steadily taught how a true authority line should be in any work place. No matter if its food service or open heart surgery, the teaching is the same. We are taught to be under our bosses and honor them in every action word and deed. One of the main parts of our job description is to make our boss look good as unto God.
Romans 13:1-3 is a verse often used when looking for what an authority looks like. “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.
I have recently had the opportunity to visit with a few of our saints in the surrounding states to discuss their roles in jobs and what God has done in their lives upon truly putting their relationship with God as number one in their lives.
As the Account Direct at Level 3 Communications, Sharon Fickel explains, “My attitude has totally changed. I look to serve my bosses constantly. Write down and follow through with everything they tell me to do. Serve my customers in every way that fills their needs. It’s fun and being under authority is freeing!”
Not only has, Sharon Fickel, had a positive life change but as we move across the United States there are a number of individuals that are putting into practice the concrete bible based principles that we all have been taught through this message.
When describing her job experience Kim Hinton from Florida explained, “One hundred eighty degree turn around, [ I ] went through eight jobs in ten years because of a lack of discipline.
Only because learning Gods laws and abiding by them have I been totally transformed and therefore my life has been transformed spiritually, financially, relationships restored and no worries.”
As a result of her changed mindset at work, Kim explained, “I was promoted to Regional Sales Manager over Florida. I oversee three sales representatives directly”
Not only are women in our fellowship being abundantly blessed within the work place many men are also reaping the benefits of giving their whole focus and direction to God.
Scott Stephens from Texas expounded on the joy and peace that has come from a changed focus. “My job title is Shipping/ Receiving Manager of JBS Cornado Feeders. I am in charge of all cattle that come to the yard and that leave the yard.” Furthermore, “God has totally relieved me of all my past strongholds and it has been instrumental in my job performance. My bosses continue to give me more responsibility, more privileges, and more opportunity to advance up. I have been continually asked to interview potential applicants and to be part of weekly meetings that plan everything that pertains to the Feed yard.”
It is truly amazing to see the changed lives that are taking place throughout the body of Christ. There are many more job testimonies to comeand it is beautiful to see them being emailed in on a daily even weekly basis. SM
