Hearing about how GOD has changed someone’s life through this message NEVER gets old. No matter what age the person is and no matter where he’s come from, GOD has allowed a Spirit inside of us that REJOICES every single time we hear about a life given to Him. And this makes perfect sense in the context of our lives and what matters most to us. As Gwen has said many times in her messages and writings, you fall in love with what you focus on. We hear stories about amazing, Godly transformations in people’s lives every single week, and these testimonies bring us endless joy! Such has been the case in the lives of two of our young people. Both Robert Williams and Priscilla Perez have found permanent, beautiful change in their lives and have found that living for GOD is better than any and every thing that the world offers. Not only have they given their lives to GOD, but this past Sabbath provided a glorious public opportunity for them to commit their lives to each other in marriage.
For the Sabbath Day, August 10th at 7:00pm Covenant Wedding Ceremony, Michael and Erin Shamblin graciously opened their home to more than 100 jubilant guests who were there to share in the celebration with Robert, Priscilla, and their families. The open, glass-filled Sunroom served as the perfect spot for this special gathering, and all those who attended had the opportunity to gaze upon GOD’S beautiful creation as the backdrop for the Ceremony. We sang praises to GOD to open and close the Wedding, and both Robert and Priscilla shared wholehearted Vows of Commitment with each other, written by them and from their own hearts. Here is just a sample of the Spirit-led words that they declared publicly…
A PORTION of ROBERT’S WORDS
Priscilla…
I vow to you and to our Heavenly Father to always love HIM first, HIS Kingdom second, and to love you as myself.
I vow to constantly look inward and stay focused on making you…my wife…and our children upright in GOD’s eyes.
I vow to raise this family in a peaceful home under GOD’s will and way…to show patience and be Spirit-led in my words in actions, so that our family will stay inside GOD’s boundaries and in HIS blessings.
To be gentle with you and our children and show a tender care that GOD would be pleased with. To show self-control in everything I do, by dying to self…pushing my selfish desires away…for GOD and for this family.
Priscilla Dawn Williams, I love you and I vow to never take this Heaven’s Kiss and blessing for granted. I’m so joyful to have you as my wife and these boys as my sons. May we continue this beautiful journey for GOD and may it be passed on to our children and our children’s children as we continue to love our Heavenly Father with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength. May the Name of the Lord be forever praised in our home.
A PORTION of PRISCILLA’S WORDS
Robert…
You have been my best friend, mentor, confidant, and most importantly, you are the love of my life. You have made me happier than I could ever had imagined, more loved than I ever thought possible… Robert, I am truly blessed to be a part of your life, which as of today becomes our life together.
I vow to be the wife of noble character that you may have full confidence in me, that I lack nothing of value so that I may bring you good and not harm.
I vow submit unto you as the Church submits to Christ, loving you, caring for you and ever seeking to please you always putting your needs above my own.
I pledge to you my life as an obedient, faithful wife. As the mother of our children I will always teach our precious little ones to love the Lord our God with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength… so that they may live long in the life to come.
Robert Edward Lee Williams, I adore you, but most of all love you. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with you. May God bless this marriage for His will and His Kingdom forevermore!
And there were many more sweet and powerful words shared by both of them. As you can see, these Remnant Covenant Weddings and the COMMITMENTS made in each of them are of the highest importance and are entered into with great REVERENCE before GOD and before His Church. As each couple makes their Vows to one another, so we also as a Church make Vows to hold them accountable and to support and encourage them in their marriage. We thankfully, prayerfully are LIVING OUT this beautiful passage of Scripture found in Acts 2:44-47 – “All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Praise GOD for these Remnant Fellowship Covenant Weddings, and praise GOD for the Truth, which gives EVERY ONE of these marriages the tools and opportunities to succeed…now and for the rest of our lives!
